Houmas House at Dusk
From the site http://www.houmashouse.com. Houmas House is one of the larger remaining plantation homes up river from New Orleans. It is open to the public and has a new owner who has populated it with period pieces from his antique collection. At one time it was the seat of a 20,000 acre sugar plantation. A few miles further up the River Road, one can take a right turn and return to today in the form of a giant oil refinery.
