At 6:00 PM Mary Sheridan started the Windows SIG. Some Windows tips and tricks were presented, and a broad discussion of computer problems followed.

The general meeting started at 6:30 PM with our president, Mary Sheridan, presiding. Mary introduced the officers who were present and handed out information about a free upcoming event called "The Road Warrior Tour" at the Doubletree on Cypress 4/20/00.

At 7 PM the presentation began. George Pilat, our speaker, was from Intnet.net, an Internet Service Provider. In addition, they are a complete communications solutions provider. He spoke about the different levels and different kinds of digital subscriber lines. He compared DSL to the cable modem, as well as explaining the different kinds of DSL. DSL is an "always-on" connection.

At 8:30 a break was taken and we had a drawing for the door prizes at 8:45 PM. Bob LaFave won first prize, a copy of Windows 2000. We also gave away three T-Shirts to Arthur Young, William LaMartin and Bill DeLucia. Brian Lance won an insulated mug and a gift certificate for a Laser Perfect free refill. u
